Bill's Firearm Training Classes

Bill's has classes from beginner to advanced, taught by some of the best instructors in the industry. Private instruction is perfect for novice shooters who want to gain comfort, and serious shooters who want to improve their performance. Many classes also available as a private group. Select the class you are interested in from this list for more info. *Some courses may have a prerequisite requirement

This course is designed to teach the basic skills necessary for safe ownership, handling, and storage of a handgun. During this course, the student will also learn the proper way to shoot the handgun, both semi-automatic and revolver.

This course is designed to satisfy the Minnesota requirements for handgun proficiency and classroom lecture. This course will enable the student to apply for their Minnesota, Wisconsin, or North Dakota Carry Permit. It will help the student train themselves to properly react while carrying a firearm. Students will shoot 50 rounds during this course.

This course is designed to teach the basic skills necessary for safe ownership, handling, and storage of a Modern Sport Rifle. During this course, the student will learn what classifies as a Modern Sport Rifle and will also get the opportunity to shoot a MSR. Students will shoot 50 rounds during this course.

This course is designed for those who have already attended either the BHFC or the MSCC. This course will provide the student with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with their hand gun by spending a small portion in the classroom, but the majority on the range. The student will fire 200 rounds through their handguns and complete four courses of fire ending the course by cleaning their handguns with instruction.

Required Items:

– Handgun (rentals are available if needed)
– 2 magazines (or speed loaders for revolvers)
– 200 rounds of ammunition

This course is designed for those who have attended either Handgun Operations Level I, or the MSCC and are interested in learning how to properly employ their firearm in the unfortunate event that they need to defend themselves from a threat. This course will cover subjects such as developing a “defensive mindset”, confronting an assailant, and defending against an armed attack. Students will begin to fire from the holstered position. Students will shoot 200 rounds during the course.

– Handgun (rentals are available if needed)
– 2 magazines ( or speed loaders for revolvers)
– Holster to fit the firearm you bring (only hip outside the waistband will be allowed)
– 200 rounds of ammunition

This course is designed to teach the student the basics of the shotgun as a defensive tool. Students will learn the difference between a defensive shotgun and a hunting shotgun, how to properly reload in a defensive environment, and the difference in ammunition at different distances.

Required Items:

  • 24 rounds of Buckshot Ammunition

This course is designed for those who have already attended the level I course. In this course, the focus will be on moving from static, single target shooting to engaging multiple targets, working from the holster, and firing from multiple positions. The student will fire 300 rounds during the course.

– Handgun (rentals are available if needed)
– 2 magazines (or speed loaders for revolvers)
– Holster to fit the firearm you bring (only hip outside the waistband will be allowed)
– 300 rounds of ammunition

This course is designed for those who have completed Defensive Handgun I and would like to take their training to the next level. The course will cover subjects such as developing an “escape mindset”, no light and low light operating conditions, and much more. The students will fire 300 rounds during the course.

Required Items:

– Handgun (rentals are available if needed)
– 2 magazines ( or speed loaders for revolvers)
– Holster to fit the firearm you bring (only hip outside the waistband will be allowed)
– 300 rounds of ammunition

This course must be attended prior to moving to the tactical courses. Throughout this course, students will learn the basics of moving while shooting, proper tactical reloading, and how to safely employ a firearm while under stress. Students will shoot 100 rounds during this course.

Required Items:

– Handgun (rentals are available if needed)
– 2 magazines ( or speed loaders for revolvers)
– 100 rounds of ammunition

The focus of this course is developing the skills necessary to become proficient at moving while shooting, using nonstandard shooting positions, and introduction to low light handgun operations in a tactical environment. Students will also experience tactical and rapid reloads. The student will fire 400 rounds during the course.

The focus of this course is developing the skills necessary to become proficient at moving while shooting, using nonstandard shooting positions, and introduction to low light AR operations in a tactical environment. Students will also experience tactical and rapid reloads. The student will fire 400 rounds during the course.

This course is designed for those who have completed Tactical Handgun Level I. This course will consist of drills that work on accuracy while moving, students will be placed under stress (elevated heart rate and time constraints) while shooting. The students will fire 400 rounds during the course.

This course is designed for those who have completed Tactical AR Level I. This course will consist of drills that work on accuracy while moving, students will be placed under stress (elevated heart rate and time constraints) while shooting. The students will fire 400 rounds during the course.

This course is designed to immerse the student in to real life, threat based scenarios. These scenarios can range from the student attending a local PTA meeting and finding themselves suddenly in an active shooter incident, to a crowded convenience store that suddenly is being attacked by armed robbers, to more. Students will use Simunitions and experience the most realistic training available.

This course is designed to bring the tactical handgun and the tactical AR together. Students will learn how to safely employ both firearm systems and when, as well as why they may need to transition from the rifle to the hand gun or handgun to rifle. The students will shoot 400 rounds during this course.

Private group training is available for groups of 6-12 students interested in our Basic, Carry, Intermediate, and/or Advanced courses. Instruction options are not limited and may include elements of several of our other courses.

Instructor Fee: $75/per hour; 2 hour minimum. Each additional student is $75.

Fee includes: Classroom materials, range fee, firearm rental, hearing & eye protection.

Ammunition and targets are extra.
